Making the Grade: Wildcats tie season-high with nine cat-claw stickers in rout over Washington

The Wildcats have 40 cat-claw helmet stickers through seven games:
4 vs. Toledo
9 vs. Oklahoma State
8 vs. South Carolina State
1 vs. Oregon
4 vs. Oregon State
5 vs. Stanford
9 vs. Washington

Memorial uniform number stickers have been added for two former Arizona standouts who have passed away this month — No. 71 Chuck Osborne (team-high 11 sacks in 1994) and No. 59 Ransom Terrell (All-WAC linebacker who played from 1971-73).

NOTES FROM THE HELMET CRITERIA BELOW

a-Arizona had 15 plays of 12 yards or more after recording a season-high 19 plays of 12 yards or more against Stanford. That’s a very impressive 34 plays of 12 yards or more in the last two games.
b-The Wildcats had exactly four drives that had eight or more plays.
c-Arizona converted 6 of 12 third-down conversions and was a perfect 2-for-2 on fourth-down attempts to finish 57.1 percent in this category. That’s the second consecutive game the Wildcats have posted a 57.1-percent conversion rate.
d-The Wildcats intercepted Washington quarterback Keith Price twice and recovered fumble by Price.
e-Richard Morrison returned a punt 63 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

The Wildcats surpassed their standard of five stickers by four against Washington. Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez said after the game that it was the Wildcats’ most complete performance of the season. They have exceeded that also against Oklahoma State and South Carolina State. They were subpar against Toledo, Oregon and Oregon State, and they met the expectation line against Stanford.

HELMET STICKER CRITERIA
How did Arizona fare in its 52-17 victory over Washington on Saturday?

The Wildcats will earn cat claws for our Arizona helmet if they achieve these following marks in games this season. This grading system is stringent. The Wildcats must achieve their goal. If it states the UA must achieve “more than” a certain mark, they must pass that mark. This helmet will be updated weekly as the Wildcats attempt to fill the helmet with the cat claws:
