Arizona running back Ka’Deem Carey is scheduled to learn of his domestic violence charges at a Tucson City Court hearing this week. The date and time have not been announced. Whether that hearing will affect his ability to attend Walter Camp All-American festivities in New Haven, Conn., beginning Thursday, is undetermined.
Carey, the nation’s top running back, and the rest of the Walter Camp All-Americans have been invited to participate in festivities that run Thursday through Saturday.
He placed this message on Twitter on Monday: “Very excited! I got invited to Connecticut for the Walter Camp award Dinner on the 10th God is Good! Worked hard all year for this moment.”
After news of the alleged incident involving Carey and his ex-girlfriend was made public Sunday, Carey tweeted: “God is good ! never know why he puts speed bumps in your life but just know its always for the better! #faith”
Carey, a former Canyon del Oro star who will be a junior next year, led the nation with 148.38 yards per game. He rushed for a school-record 23 touchdowns. He also became the 11th consensus All-American in school history. He is the first offensive player chosen to the Walter Camp All-American team in UA history.
