Nic Wise is playing again after missing almost three months while rehabbing a knee injury

Former Arizona point guard Nic Wise, who has played professionally in Italy, France and Germany, played his first game for a pro team in Poland on Saturday.

Wise came off the bench and played 14 minutes in Rosa Radom’s 76-75 loss to Asseco Prok. Wise tallied three assists and four points (making both of his field-goal attempts).

Wise played three games in October with Italian pro team Juve Caserta before he returned to the United States to rehabilitate a knee injury.

The other two members of Arizona’s Big Three — Jordan Hill and Chase Budinger — in the Wildcats’ 2009 Sweet 16 appearance have succumbed to injuries this season. Budinger (knee) has an opportunity to return to the Timberwolves in March. Hill (hip) is out for the rest of the season with the Lakers.

Gilbert Arenas has returned to his Chinese professional team, the Shanghai Sharks, after nursing a thigh injury. In his first game back, Arenas scored a season-high 37 points in a 107-104 win over Xinjiang Guanghui. Arenas also fooled a defender so badly on a jab step that the defender fell to the floor (see accompanying video) before he nailed a three-pointer.

Arenas scored 17 out of his 37 points in the third quarter and hit 5 of 8 from three-point range during his first game in almost three weeks.

“I like people to underestimate me, so I can throw the doubts back to their face with my performance,” Arenas is quoted as saying by CRIEnglish.com.
