Donny Perdue named to All-Region team & Kelsey Smith earned All-Freshman status

Former Pusch Ridge standout Donny Perdue was 6-1 with an ERA of 2.95 for Kishwaukee College in Illinois. Perdue allowed 34 hits in 36 innings and struck out 20 batters while giving up only 19 earned runs to earn a spot on the NJCAA Region IV All-Region Team.

Kishwaukee College is the top seed in the playoffs.

Former Empire pitcher Kelsey Smith was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team. Smith belted 12 home runs for East Tennessee State and was 1-0 from the circle.

Smith was ETSU’s leader for home runs, runs batted in (41) and slugging percentage (.621). Smith hit eight homers in the school’s first 17 games.
