The Tucson Summer Pro League (TSPL) gets underway this Saturday at the Gregory School and will run until August 2.

With over 80 players in the adult league and 50 kids in the youth league, the TSPL is one of the few successful NCAA sanctioned leagues in the southwest. There are eight teams for the adults and five for the kids.

The first league in the country to allow women a chance to play, the trend continues with Pima standouts Melody McLaughlin and Adrianna Barrientez scheduled to play. Local standouts such as Shakir Smith, Shane Burton and Donald Selig will also take part.

Pima Federal Credit Union, Clausen Moore, Casino Del Sol Resort, ACE Hardware, McFadden Gavender, Asarco, Pizza Hut and Truly Nolen are the signature team sponsors while Watson Chevrolet, Infinity of Tucson, Tucson Power Basketball, Roofing Specialists and Texas Roadhouse are the sponsors for TSPL for Kids.

TPSL is run by former University of Arizona standout and current basketball standout Corey Williams.
