Gavin Cohen takes 3rd place at the Eddie Hogan Cup

Gavin Cohen (Catalina Foothills) and Jonathan Walters (Canyon del Oro) represented Team Arizona at the 47th Eddie Hogan Cup held in Portland, Oregon over the weekend.

The Hogan Cup 36-hole team matches pit the best junior golfers from the Western United States and Canada against each other in a team format with the three lowest scores each day determining the team total. Medals are awarded to the top three teams as well as the top three individuals in the field.

Team Arizona finished 455 (+23), 16 strokes behind Team Hawaii. Teams in the field included: Arizona, British Columbia, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Northern California, Oregon 1, Oregon 2, San Diego, Southern California, Utah and Washington.

As an individual, Cohen took third place and finished 73-72-145 (+1). Christian James of Nevada won the event with a 1-under par 143. Walters shot 84-85-173.
