Softball Canada placed former Salpointe standout Brianna Aguilar-Beaucage on its Junior Women’s National Team Athlete Pool on Friday. Aguilar-Beaucage is a PGF All-American and was a First Team All-Southern Arizona selection last spring. She signed with Grand Canyon.

According to a press release, Aguilar-Beaucage will attend a selection camp next June 5-10, 2017 in Cloverdale, British Columbia. From this camp, the coaching staff will select a team to represent Canada at the 2017 WBSC Junior Women’s World Softball Championship scheduled for July 24-30 in Clearwater, Florida. Selected athletes will re-assemble on July 7 to train prior to the World Championship. There are 32 athletes in the Canada Junior Pool.

Her mother, Bettina, is a member of the All-Time Academic All-Big Ten Softball Team (Ohio State) and her aunt Marcie Aguilar played for the University of Arizona and is listed in the Encyclopedia of Women and Baseball from her days with the Colorado Silver Bullets.

Former Sabino and current Wisconsin standout Kelsey Jenkins was on the Junior Team last year.
